I was thrilled to find out that this babe was pregnant for her second session, maternity boudoir is one of my favorite things to capture and I think all expecting mothers should get to experience seeing themselves beautiful and glowing! As women, our bodies change throughout the years and pregnancy is just another one of those changes that some of our bodies go through! It can be tough to see yourself as beautiful BUT that’s why I’m here, to show you how incredible you are, pregnant or not!
She chose to do the blush angel wings set and the silhouette set on top of our traditional set. She also had a summer session so I had to sneak in some fun Hidden Paradise vibes with her second outfit!! Enjoy this gorgeous session and what she had to say below!
Before The Session
How do you feel? Empowered, beautiful, elegant.
What are you nervous about? Honestly right now, nothing. I mean, I think I was more nervous in the beginning but since this is my second session and my body is different this time because I’m pregnant. So, I’m bigger around the middle and things are just wider but honestly since I’ve been here you’ve made it like really relaxed and I feel comfortable, and I’m not really worried about anything other than making sure I can get myself into the positions.
What are you most excited for today? To see myself, because I did a session a couple of years ago, just before pregnancy and everything. So again, you know, pregnancy is a vulnerable time where your body changes a lot, and you gain weight, and things stretch in different places. So, to just see that regardless of that I’m still just as pretty as I was before and you know, growing a human life is a major thing but also just to see how beautiful you capture it as well.
Why are you doing a session? So, for me. Sometimes my confidence isn’t the best and I forget being a mom and an employee and all of those things, I forget about me, and I feel like it really helps me realize I can be me and who I am and how beautiful inside and out I can be.
What do you hope to get out of this experience? Again, I think more confidence to know that it’s there whether I have all the makeup and pictures or not that I can do it and I have been there and just the experience of doing the entire session.
After the First Outfit
How are you feeling now that you’ve taken some photos? Really good! Happy, excited!
What are you most excited for now? To see what they look like at the end! I’m just excited to see how they turned out because they were fun to take.
Are you having a good time? Yes it’s fun, it’s kind of, I don’t know, like a party with a friend instead of something you have to go do.
Describe how you feel right now: Empowered, beautiful and excited.
After the Session
Now that your session is over, how do you feel? Wonderful, it’s kind of like when you’re a kid and you think about, “Oh, I want to be a model some day!” But then as you get older you’re like, “There’s no way I could ever do that.” But you kind of get to live out that dream so I kind of feel like I did in a sense.
What are you the most excited to see? I think the silhouette pictures just because I’ve always seen those online and I’ve never had any taken like that before. So just to see how the different sets turned out.
Now that it’s over do you still feel nervous at all? No, not at all!
What was your favorite part? I think just the experience in general. Again, I think you make a lot of the experience, so you make it fun and exciting and even the poses you have to work a little bit harder for don’t seem like work, it’s fun. So just the whole thing.
Are you excited to see your images? Oh yeah.
Can you explain how the session made you feel? I think it made me feel important to myself, like I matter and that you know, regardless of anything going on in life, I am me and I can kind of do whatever I set my mind to. I think empowerment is probably the biggest word.
After the reveal
Describe how it feels seeing your images for the first time: Exciting, it’s fun to see all the different poses and facial expressions. I thought I’d look silly, but I don’t. It’s kind of a relief too because you worked your magic, and it turned out really good.
Did your images turn out better than you expected? Oh yeah, definitely. I think even when I think they’re going to be great they turn out even better than I thought.
Which one is your favorite and why? Oh jeez, I have two favorites but probably the silhouette just because of the way it’s taken. I mean you hit it spot on perfect angle, perfect lighting and it just looks perfect. The other one was the couch, I think again, you took some up close but then you took some far away and you knew exactly how to take it so that everything came together in the entire scene.
Does this change how you view yourself? Yeah, it’s just a reminder that I’m worth more than I think sometimes, especially when you’re having those really bad days. It’s just a really good reminder.
What product are you most excited for? Probably the album since it has all of them but also since the silhouette is one of my favorites and we did the metal print, to be able to hang that up is exciting.
What would you tell someone thinking of booking? Do it. Don’t hesitate, don’t let all of the “what if’s/maybes/I’m not made for it,” get in the way, just do it. I think both times I was a little hesitant, but I just did it anyway and once you get through that initial step that it’s much smoother from there.
Why would you recommend Tara Rae Photography’s Studio? I would recommend your studio because just you personally, you know, I’ve had other photographers for other things in life but I just feel like you’re going to do what it takes to get the image that looks the best. Even if you have to get in funky positions or move my hair ten times, you’re going to make sure it turns out the way that is going to look the best. You put in the effort and it’s worth it.
What do you know now that you wish you would have known before booking? Before the first time I booked compared to this time, being prepared with more options, even though we didn’t need them but just to have them and not feel silly for what I was bringing because you’ll help me figure out if it’s good or not, so I think just that.
